Key COVID-19 stats continue to look promising in Kingston upon Thames.

Throughout the borough cases are on the decrease.

In the last seven days 488 people have tested positive - this equates to around a 20% decrease on the previous week.

The prior seven days saw over 600 test positive in the borough.

The rate of infection per 100,000 is now around the 300 mark.

16 people in the borough have died in the past seven days - an eleven percent decrease on the previous week.

In further good news hospitalisations are also ticking down nationally and here in the borough.

125 people were admitted to hospital with COVID last week - down five percent on the previous week.

This figure need to continue trending downwards to relieve pressure off the NHS - and case figures suggest it will do so.

Local vaccination figures are not available for the borough however we have now vaccinated (first dose) at least 10 million people across the UK.

New findings about the Oxford vaccine suggest it dramatically reduces transmission.

This is a key factor in lifting restrictions.
