Kingston residents can now have a lateral flow test while doing their shopping.

Kingston market is one of two sites in the borough which are carrying out rapid covid tests for people without symptoms of the virus.

Lateral flow tests are now available via appointment at Market House in the Market Square and also at Kingston University's Penryhn Road Campus.

Since April 9 anyone in England without covid symptoms has been entitled to get a free rapid covid test twice a week, to help stop the spread of the virus.

Four Kingston pharmacies are also carrying out in-person tests for people without symptoms.

These are:

- Eagercare, Surbiton Road, Kingston

- Newmans, Ewell Road, Surbiton

- PSM, Ewell Road, Surbiton

- Pearl Chemist, Tolworth Broadway, Tolworth

In addition to in-person tests, kits can be ordered online and collected from the following community sites:

- Milner Road, Kingston

- Hawker Centre, Kingston

- Cocks Crescent, New Malden

Several local pharmacies are also offering kit collections.
