Lewis Capaldi fans were put on red alert when the Scottish singer-songwriter announced on Wednesday he would be holding five intimate gigs in partnership with independent record stores across the country.

Kingston's beloved Banquet Records was one of the featured five stores and released tickets this morning which sold out in a matter of seconds.

Due to the incredibly high demand, Capaldi added an extra show for the same day, Friday May 19th, and tickets again sold in the blink of an eye.

The intimate gigs coincide with Capaldi's release date for his new album 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent', and Banquet Records is set to host a Q&A with the 2020 Brit Award Winner for Best Artist following his acoustic sets.

Speaking to Banquet Records on his highly anticipated second album, Capaldi said: "So, for album two, the idea is simple but potent: to go in and do the exact same thing. No bells, whistles or starry featured vocalists, and no ruinously expensive stays in distant studios. Like it was on the first album, straight-up, full-force honesty.

"I don't want to create a new sound for myself, or reinvent myself. The songs I want to write are emotional songs, about love or loss."

Banquet Records will be kept busy throughout May with a host of big names set to play in Kingston in addition to Capaldi, including Glen Matlock, FOALS, Arlo Parks and The Lathums.
