Planned roadworks taking place across the borough this week

This week will see a number of roadworks take place which could impact your routes across the Kingston borough.

Read on to find out what areas will be affected and the roads to avoid.

Dukes Avenue, New Malden: 24 hour road closure from Station Avenue to number 24, 8 to 28 May 2023. Works by Network Rail, footway closed. An alternative route for pedestrians will be provided.

Kingston Hill, Kingston: Multi-way signals from 9.30am to 2pm at the junction of Whitfield Way, 9 to 11 May 2023. Works by Network Rail, footway closed. An alternative route for pedestrians will be provided.

Canbury Passage, Kingston: 16 August 2022 to 31 May 2023. Works by Thames Water. Footway closed, an alternative route for pedestrians will be provided. 

Kingsgate Road, Kingston: At the junction with Canbury Passage, 16 August 2022 to 31 May 2023. Works by Thames Water, footway closed. An alternative route for pedestrians will be provided.

Garrison Lane, Chessington: 24 hour multi-way signals outside 2 Selby Close, 15 to 17 May 2023. Works by Community Fibre. Footway closed, a pedestrian walkway will be provided.

Orchard Road, Kingston: 24 hour multi-way signals outside 39A, 15 to 19 May 2023. Works by Thames Water. Footway closed, a pedestrian walkway will be provided.

Penrhyn Road, Kingston: 24 hour multi-way signals outside 13, 15 to 19 May 2023. Works by Thames Water, footway closed. A pedestrian walkway will be provided.

Kingston Hill, Kingston: 24 hour two-way signals outside North Lodge, 15 to 26 May 2023. Works by Thames Water. Footway closed, a pedestrian walkway will be provided.

Upper Brighton Road, Surbiton: 24 hour multi-way signals at the junction with Walpole Road, 16 to 18 May 2023. Works by Virgin Media, footway closed. A pedestrian walkway will be provided.

Kingston Road, New Malden: 24 hour multi-way signals outside St.Johns Church, 17 to 25 May 2023. Works by Thames Water, footway closed. A pedestrian walkway will be provided.

Tolworth Roundabout TFL Scheme: A3 at the junction with A240, 3 April to 27 October 2023. Work is being undertaken by TFL to improve pedestrian, vehicular and cycling journey times. However, due to the complexity of the works, various stages of traffic management will need to be utilised throughout the project and it is expected to cause significant impact on traffic flows from time to time.

Main roads that are likely to be impacted; Kingston Road, Ewell Road and Surbiton Hill Road (A240). A3. Kingsdowne Road (A3210). Upper Brighton Road and Hook Road (A243). Malden Road (A2043).
