A beloved Surbiton salon had a night to remember at the 2023 UK Hair and Beauty Awards.

Heading up to Birmingham on Saturday April 22nd for the prestigous event, Andrew Thompson and his team from Salon at No.13 took home top spot in the 'Best for Blondes' category for London and the UK's 'Best Salon Team'.

The salon, which only opened two years ago and employs 13 people, is a local success story having survived the Covid-19 lockdowns and has gone from strength-to-strength ever since.

Mr Thompson, Director and Founder of Salon at No.13, signed the lease for the property on Surbiton's high street just ten days before the first national lockdown was announced, putting on hold his dreams of owning a business.

Reflecting on the business's remarkable success, the salon artistic director and owner told Nub News Salon at No.13's double win at the Hair and Beauty Awards underlines how far himself and his colleagues have come in such a short space of time and stressed his gratitude towards his loyal team and customers.

Mr Thompson said: "I could not be happier to receive these awards and can only thank both my team and our loyal Surbiton customers for sticking with us through the lockdowns.

"Salon at No.13 is a great place to work, with an enormously talented team and friendly atmosphere. Opening a small business is always a huge leap of faith, and especially after the pandemic, but I'm so pleased that I did. This is very much like the icing on the cake!"
