Traffic report

Delays and queueing:

New Malden: Severe delays of 15 minutes and delays easing on Central Road Northbound between A2043 Cheam Common Road and A2043 Kingston Road. Average speed five mph.

Hook: Slow traffic on A3 Northbound at A243 Hook Road (Hook Junction).

Tolworth: Delays of four minutes and delays easing on A240 Kingston Road Northbound between Kingston Road and Hook Rise South. Average speed five mph.

Hampton Court: Queueing traffic on A309 Hampton Court Bridge Northbound from B364 Embercourt Road to A308 Hampton Court Road (Hampton Court)

Armistice Day

The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918.

Armistice is Latin for to stand (still) arms.

To this day we mark Armistice Day around the United Kingdom with a Two Minute Silence at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.

This year the National Memorial Arboretum will be broadcasting their annual Armistice Day Service of Remembrance, live from the Armed Forces Memorial.

The service will commemorate the signing of the Armistice which brought an end to the First World War and will remember all those who gave their lives in service to their country since 1914.

The closed service will only be attended by invited guests but you can watch a live broadcast of the service from 10.45am on Thursday 11 November.

In Kingston there will be four services taking place across the borough on Sunday 14 November, Remembrance Sunday.

These are:

• New Malden, 9:30am - The Service will take place at the War Memorial.

• Kingston, 10:45am - The Service will begin with a Procession from the Guildhall at 10.37am to the War Memorial by 10.45am for the Laying of Wreaths and a slightly extended outside Service.

After this, the Procession will return to the Guildhall where the Remembrance Day Commemorations will be concluded with a March Past outside the Guildhall. There will be no church service this year.

• Surbiton, 10:45 - The Service will take place at the War Memorial on the Ewell Road at 10.45am and finish at approximately 11.30am.

The Parade will march from the Surbiton British Legion, Hollyfield Road onto the Ewell Road, up to the War Memorial for the Service itself and then afterwards return back down the Ewell Road.

• Chessington, 10:45 - The Service will take place at the War Memorial at the Royal British Legion HQ, Church Fields, Church Lane, at 10.45am followed by a Service at 11.15am at St Mary's Community Hall, Church Lane, Chessington
