We are seeking a talented and ambitious Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at our esteemed French restaurant in Surbiton, London. Responsibilities:

Culinary Excellence:
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality French dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and standards.
- Execute cooking techniques with precision and consistency, showcasing creativity and attention to detail.
- Contribute innovative ideas to menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and authentic French flavors.

Kitchen Operations:
- Coordinate and supervise kitchen activities in the absence of senior chefs, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor food inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize food wastage through proper storage and utilization techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with fellow chefs and kitchen staff to ensure seamless teamwork and communication.
- Provide guidance and support to commis chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering their growth and development.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, discipline, and a positive attitude in the kitchen.

Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of food items to ensure freshness, quality, and presentation standards.
- Taste and adjust seasoning of dishes as necessary to achieve optimal flavor profiles.
- Uphold consistency in portion sizes and plating techniques to meet guest expectations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel, preferably with exposure to French cuisine.
- Culinary qualifications from a recognized culinary school or apprenticeship program.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of French cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
