Are you passionate about helping children with special educational needs reach their full potential? Do you have the patience, empathy, and energy to support young people with additional needs? We are working with a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in New Malden that is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and sensory or physical challenges.
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning and support plans.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
  • Encourage independence, build confidence, and promote positive social interactions through consistent and nurturing support.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, caring, and structured learning environment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (highly desirable).
  • A compassionate, adaptable, and resilient approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
