Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Personal Tax Accountant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and delivering comprehensive personal tax services, ensuring compliance and providing strategic tax planning advice to our clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and expatriates.
  • Provide expert advice on personal tax matters, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trust taxation.
  • Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
  • Conduct tax planning and advisory services to optimise clients' tax positions.
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients, managing any enquiries or investigations.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and communicate these to clients and the team.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering their development and ensuring high standards of work.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide integrated services to clients.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent with significant experience in personal tax.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing a diverse client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
