If you're over 45 and struggling to get back into work help is at hand.

Room for Work is a charity delivering free career development courses. Our Kingston Age Friendly 45+ programme is a 7-session employability course for older skilled workers with work experience who are unemployed or economically inactive.

The programme combines practical job search support with structured activities to improve confidence, motivation, routine, and mental wellbeing, responding to evidence that unemployment in later working life is strongly associated with anxiety, depression, reduced confidence, and long-term health barriers.

By integrating mental health awareness into employability support, the course helps people become more job-ready while also improving resilience and reducing isolation. Participants benefit from peer-to-peer learning in groups of 12-15 people, meeting weekly for sessions 2.5 hours in length. Tailored one-to one-mentoring and follow-up career coaching is included.

Classes are held Wednesday mornings from 10am-1pm.
