Holly Lodge Centre Christmas Concert
Christ Church, 69 Christchurch Road, East Sheen, SW14 7AN
Music
Thursday 5th December
Come and join us on Thursday December 5 at 19:30 at Christ Church East Sheen for the highly festive Holly Lodge Centre's annual charity Christmas concert which will include music by local choirs, professional classical musicians and a sale of rustic wreaths. And to top it all you are also welcome to partake in a glass of wine and a mince pie or two.
The event will be hosted by the ever-ebullient TV and radio personality, Adrian Mills and will include seasonal readings by actress Jacki Piper in between the musical entertainment.
This will be provided by renditions from three local choirs; The Clarendon School and Sheen Mount School choirs plus the adult Sheen Gate Choir.
There will also be a superb musical medley performed by a trio of world class musicians including two stunning vocal talents - mezzo soprano Andrea Rodriguez-Gomez who has performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York and Harrison Gration a magnificent deep voiced bass baritone.
Andrea has performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York while Harrison has played many operatic parts at a number of prestigious events. Both singers are studying at the Royal Academy of Music and sing beautifully together.
They will be accompanied by Weng Soon Tee, a highly versatile solo pianist who trained at the Guildhall School of Music and regularly performs as a chamber musician, orchestral pianist and song accompanist in venues including the Barbican. Weng will also perform a solo piece.
And to really capture the Christmas spirit, during the interval there will be wine and mince pies as well as a sale of beautifully handcrafted wreaths made by volunteers at the Holly Lodge Centre - with all proceeds going directly to this wonderful small unique charity in the heart of Richmond Park. It provides immersive experiences in nature history and science for over 8,000 adults and children every year – with a particular focus on those with additional needs.
