Monday 28th July

All Saints Kingston will shortly be hosting a FREE talk from the Very Reverend Nicholas Papadopulos, Dean of Salisbury Cathedral, titled; Stories from Israel-Palestine.
The talk is on Monday 28th July at 7.30pm in the Nave of All Saints Kingston, KT1 1JP and details Nick's experiences on a three month sabbatical leave in the area with the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel. Nick described his time in occupied East Jerusalem as 'an overwhelming experience'. He monitored human rights, visited holy sites, worshipped in different churches, spoke with many people and many organizations, lived through the Muslim observance of Ramadan, and celebrated Holy Week and Easter in the city where Jesus died and rose again – all against the merciless backdrop of the war in Gaza.
The talk will detail;
- What is daily life under occupation really like?
- What are the implications for human rights and international law?
- What can be done to promote a just peace in Israel-Palestine?
