Local primary school to represent Kingston borough in London Boroughs Youth Cup

Marlborough Highways is sponsoring the London Boroughs Youth Cup, a six-a-side football tournament taking place at Barnet Football Club on Sunday, 18 May.
The competition will see teams of 10- and 11-year-olds from 29 London boroughs come together for a day of exciting football, community spirit, and fundraising in aid of the Mayor of Barnet's Charity.
And representing Kingston borough is Our Lady Immaculate Primary School in Surbiton.
The event, which is open to boys and girls, offers young players from schools, community groups, and grassroots football clubs across the capital the chance to represent their borough and experience the thrill of competitive sport.
Entry is completely free, with the tournament designed to promote inclusivity, diversity, and participation from all backgrounds.
The initiative is being delivered in partnership with the Mayor of Barnet's Charity, Barnet Football Club, and the Hive Foundation – a registered charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of local people through sport and recreation.
The Hive Foundation works closely with Barnet FC and the London Bees to provide engaging activities for residents and young people across Harrow, Barnet, and beyond.
Matthew Revell, Managing Director of Marlborough Highways, said: "We are thrilled to be sponsoring the London Boroughs Youth Cup.
"Supporting grassroots sport and creating opportunities for young people is incredibly important to us as a business that's deeply rooted in local communities where we work.
"Football has a unique ability to inspire, bring people together, and teach valuable life skills. We can't wait to see London's next generation of players take to the pitch."
The London Boroughs Youth Cup promises a brilliant atmosphere, with matches and activities running throughout the day, including a penalty shootout competition run by local charity Just4Keepers.
In the lead-up to the tournament, Marlborough's Social Value team has been out and about visiting some of the fantastic teams preparing to represent their boroughs.
Its Social Value and Sustainability Apprentice, Poppy Kennedy, has been making the rounds to participating schools across Barnet, Barking and Dagenham, Greenwich, Hackney, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Kingston upon Thames, Newham, Redbridge, and Tower Hamlets.
Armed with Marlborough-branded footballs, she's been dropping into training sessions, meeting the players, and speaking with students about what the tournament means to them.
The countdown is well and truly on – and it's shaping up to be an unforgettable event.
