Locals brace the cold at the 'Uber Boat by Thames Clippers' Hampton Court Half Marathon

The historic and scenic 'Uber Boat by Thames Clippers' Hampton Court Half Marathon took place on Sunday, 16 February, delivering an exciting race for runners and spectators alike.

With 1,486 finishers braving the crisp, cold conditions, the event showcased endurance, determination, and stunning views along the River Thames.

Starting in Thames Ditton, participants weaved their way through a beautiful course that took them over the iconic Kingston Bridge and past Hampton Court Palace.

The cold weather added an extra challenge, but runners rose to the occasion, achieving impressive times in the competitive field.

The men's top finishers were:

  • Ollie Garrod – 01:10:26
  • Ugur Altan – 01:11:05
  • Mohamed Hashi – 01:11:32

  • Stephanie Ainley – 01:21:25
  • Agnieszka Wilk – 01:21:41

Event organisers hailed the race as a fantastic success, with thousands of runners enjoying a well-supported, well-organised event.

Race Director Tom Bedford said: "The Hampton Court Half Marathon celebrated its 12th year in style.

"It was a cold one out there, but we saw so many personal bests at the finish line.

"There were also many people running for charity, including our charity of the year, Alzheimer's Research UK."

The event wouldn't have been possible without the support of Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, event partners, volunteers, and the enthusiastic crowds who lined the route to cheer on participants.

The next River Thames Running event will take place in three weeks' time at the Kingston Break-fest Run.
