Australian footballer to leave Chelsea Women's team

Matildas star Sam Kerr is set to leave Chelsea at the end of the Women's Super League season, according to reports.
Following the club's Asian Cup Final loss to Japan, The Times reported that Kerr and fellow Chelsea great Millie Bright are on their way out the door of the London club.
Kerr's contract with Chelsea expires at the season's end and is set to depart as the Blues move on several older players.
Kerr and former England captain Bright are both 32 years of age, while 31-year-old Guro Reiten left the club last week as the Blues look to refresh in the midst of a disappointing season.
Chelsea would need a miracle to secure a seventh straight league title as it sits nine points behind league leaders Manchester City with four games left to play.
Kerr has scored ten goals for the Blues this season, but has played a diminished role upon her return from an ACL injury.
The star striker has started only seven times this campaign.
Kerr joined Chelsea in 2019 and has won 11 major trophies with the club.
The Australian was named the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year in 2022 and is Chelsea's second all-time leading goal scorer with 109 goals in 151 appearances.
Kerr was put on trial at Kingston Crown Court for racially aggravated assault against a police officer early last year, but was found not guilty.
