Members of a Facebook community group have slammed plans for a new 16-storey tower on Kingston riverside.

On Monday Nub News revealed that developers London Square and Fenwick are seeking to build two towers between John Lewis and Turks Pier on the Thames.

A Kingston school has praised the resilience of its students as they celebrate an outstanding set of A-Level results today (10 August) despite the disruption to learning caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kingston Grammar School (KGS) said its pupils "deserve the highest praise," for their impressive achievements over 18 months of mostly online learning and uncertainty over exams.

The rate of Covid-19 infections in Kingston upon Thames is falling steadily, following a sharp rise in early and mid-July.

The number of new cases of the virus in the borough has declined for the second week in a row, going from 508 on 24 July to 412 on 31 July.

Royal Parks staff said they were "staggered" after finding an entire sofa set dumped in Bushy Park this summer, amid a shocking rise of litter in London's parks.

The colourful sofa suite was left jammed between a mature oak tree in the park and took time and money to remove, the charity said, in a blog posted to their website last Thursday (5 August).
