Molesey sports club Imber Court has cancelled its annual fireworks for 2022 after a display on Friday that left some attendees fearing for their lives due to crushes and bottlenecks caused by dangerous overcrowding.
It is the first time in 52 years that the club has cancelled the fireworks event which is popular with Kingston residents and billed as 'Surrey's largest display.'

A SPACE-THEMED light trail will be illuminating Hampton Court Palace this December as part of a tantalising menu of Christmas events at the palace - with the popular ice skating and Christmas Festive Fayre also set to return.
Visitors to the royal site near Bushy Park will be swept up in a "whimsical world of planets and stars" in a new installation inspired by the palace's astronomical clock.

Kingston and Surbiton MP Ed Davey has called for a sewage tax that could raise £70 million to protect London rivers from sewage spills.
The Lib-Dem leader said the money would be raised from taxing the profits of Thames Water, which made £433 million pre-tax profit in 2020.
