AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy who walked the length of every street in Kingston borough in the first year of covid-19 lockdowns has been recognised for his "amazing achievement" by Kingston's Mayor.

Matty Dixon, now aged 9, completed his tour of the borough on Christmas Eve 2020 and has since taken on nearby areas Long Ditton and Hinchley Wood.

Surbiton women open Ukraine donations collection point at local church

A CHURCH in Surbiton has become a hub for donations of urgently needed supplies after local women ran out of space in their homes to collect them.

Two ante-rooms in St Mark's Church on Surbiton Hill are now being used to store vital items such as medicine, baby food, nappies and personal hygiene products, as part of a London-wide effort to provide relief to the people of Ukraine.

KINGSTON'S MP Ed Davey has called Russia's invasion of Ukraine "the darkest day for our continent since 1945" and is urging the West to stand with the invaded country.

Davey, the leader of the Liberal Democrat party, condemned the attack by Russia yesterday (24 February) on the Eastern European country.
