A woman in her 40s died last week after being found unresponsive in a flat on Surbiton's Ewell Road.

Paramedics and ambulance cars from the London Ambulance Service were called to reports of people unwell at the flat just after 5am on Wednesday, 4 March.

A man in his 30s was also treated at the scene and taken to hospital in a non life-threatening condition.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told Nub News:"We were called at 5.06am on Wednesday 4 March to reports of people unwell on Ewell Road, Surbiton.

"We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and a clinical team manager.

"We treated two people. We took one patient to a local hospital as a priority. Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a second patient was pronounced dead at the scene."

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service added: Police were called at 05:12hrs on Wednesday, 4 March following reports that a woman had been found unconscious in Tolworth Close, Surbiton.

"Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service.

"Despite the efforts of the emergency services, a woman in her 40s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next-of-kin have been informed.

At this stage her death is being treated as unexplained.

"A post-mortem examination on Thursday, 5 March was inconclusive and we await the result of further tests.

"A man in his 30s was also treated at the scene and taken to hospital in a non life-threatening condition. He has since been discharged from hospital.

@There have been no arrests and enquiries continue."
