A woman who was allegedly caught shoplifting in John Lewis Kingston has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

Police arrested the woman after being called to the department store on Wood Street around 6.30pm yesterday evening (Monday, 23 February).

A Met Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Police were called on Monday, 23 February to a report of shoplifting on Wood Street, Kingston.

"Officers attended and spoke to staff who said the woman had been detained and a knife found on her possession.

"She was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon."
