Every Thursday we round up all the eye-catching events occurring in your area over the weekend.

Chasing his runaway shadow, a mischievous young boy crash lands through an open window and meets a headstrong young girl not yet ready to face growing up. With a sprinkle of fairy dust, they take flight on a whirlwind festive voyage over pirate ships, through mermaid lagoons and into the heart of Neverland. 

Friday 22 December 

Lego Free Build, Kingston Library, 10-11:30am 

Suitable for 5-11yrs. Come and show off your skills and build whatever you like in this self-directed LEGO Free Build session!

WHATS UR STAR SIGN?, The Fighting Cocks, 7:30-11pm 

It's the loudest pride party in Kingston! Come and meet your alternative queer community! We come together to celebrate pride; loudly, proudly, visibly. Join us for our Xmas party, this December with You Over Me and Girls Like Us!

LAST CHANCE: Parasites by Flo Kasearu and Elīna Vītola, Dorich House Museum and Stanley Picker Gallery, 11am-2pm 

For Flo Kasearu’s first UK solo show Host, visitors will not be able to visit her major piece the Flo Kasearu House Museum as this is in Tallinn, so instead she has produced soap replicas of her 113-year-old family house. The artists’ interventions in the museum include unassumingly tiny objects which encapsulate immense power and potential.  

11am – 12.30pm Parasites by Flo Kasearu and Elīna Vītola at Dorich House Museum; 12.30 – 2pm Host by Flo Kasearu at Stanley Picker Gallery. A Free shuttle-bus will operate between the two venue. 

Saturday 23 December 

The Gay Horse’s Christmas Drag Show, The Grey Horse, 3pm (doors 2pm) 

Expect fabulous costumes, jaw-dropping performances, and festive games at Ram Jam Records. The show will begin at 3pm but the pub will be open before so get cozy! Lineup: Ali Vera, Coco Couture, Pip Dream, Jessica Hughes & more TBA

LAST CHANCE: Afternoon Tea with Santa, Fenwick’s 

In the mood for sandwiches, scones and a dusting of festive magic? It can only be Afternoon Tea with Santa in Fenwick Kingston. Immerse yourself into the magical experience every Saturday and Sunday, from 2 to 23 December 2023. Tickets are £32.50 per person.

Dust Me Down Blues Band, The Grey Horse, 9pm 

The charismatic Blues vocals of Ray Wallen and skilled Blues roots guitar from widely renowned guitarist Davide Mazzantini are behind the huge success of Dust Me Down Blues Band. A hot ticket whenever they are in town. Famous staples of the London Blues Scene, Dust Me Down Blues Band always storm The Speakeasy Party with their unique mix of black music, Chicago Blues, 70's funk + old gospel tunes.

Enjoy a midnight mass service with an organ and choir to get you in the Christmas spirit ahead of the big day.
