Join us at The Jazz Sanctuary for an exceptional night of fresh jazz featuring the Matt Cook Quintet!

Matt Cook is a London-based tenor saxophonist who has been described as 'spectacular' by JazzJournal Magazine. He has been compared to legendary saxophonists like Wayne Shorter (London Jazz News 2020) and Mark Turner (Marlbank 2024).

Matt formed his quintet while studying at The Royal Academy of Music in London, bringing together some of the most creative young musicians on the London jazz scene. He aimed to unite four distinct musical voices that each contribute their own style and flair to the music.

His eclectic compositional influences range from modern jazz contemporaries such as Immanuel Wilkins and Ambrose Akinmusire to pioneering figures like John Coltrane and Joe Henderson. He boldly blends genres, incorporating elements from 20th-century classical composers like Messiaen and Ravel, alongside nods to alternative rock bands such as Radiohead. Repetition plays a key role in Matt's compositions, a technique inspired by spiritual jazz that creates meditative and transcendent moments.

There's a Valentine's event at Signal Park in Tolworth this Saturday (Image supplied)

On Saturday 1st February 2025, from 9am-5pm, Guinness Homes' shared ownership development, Signal Park in Tolworth, is getting into the romantic spirit by hosting a Valentine's themed event for people looking to take the next step and buy their first home.

With delicious sweet treats on offer, the event is an opportunity to learn more about shared ownership, visit the apartments first-hand, and have a sneak peek into life at Signal Park.

Through buying a share of a home, typically between 25% and 75%, shared ownership is a more affordable way for first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder, with homes typically requiring much lower deposits and monthly repayments than on the open market. There is the option to purchase more shares as time goes on through a process known as 'staircasing', with the possibility of owning 100% of the home in the future.

Located in Tolworth, Surbiton, residents of Signal Park can make the most of all that south-west London has to offer. From nearby attractions such as Hollywood Bowl and Surbiton Raceway, to a vibrant food and drinks scene, Signal Park is situated at the heart of this bustling London borough.
