Swamp Stomp Swing Band
Friday 28 March, The Fighting Cocks, 7.30pm - 11pm.

The Swamp Stomp String Band are not just another hillbilly-wannabe, country band…
Sure, there are twangy banjos, driving guitars, a honky-tonk piano, and a thudding double bass but these propel everything from drinking songs that will have the room stomping their feet and raising their flagons of cider, to ballads that will break even the toughest of folk.

Disco Soul at Teddington
Friday 28 March, Teddington Constitutional Club, 7.30pm - midnight.

Do you love 70's disco and soul music, with a handful of 60's Motown and maybe a splash of Northern soul thrown in for good measure? If you answer "YES!", put on your boogie shoes, sprinkle disco glitter (not essential but encouraged!) and pop down to Teddington Constitutional Club where DJ's "Disco Sue" and "Markus" will play your favourite songs (on old-school vinyl).

Teddington Choral Society concert: Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Karl Jenkins's The Armed Man
Saturday 29 March, Landmark Arts Centre, Doors open: 6.45pm.

Teddington Choral Society will be joined by Soprano, Eleanor Pennell-Briggs, Tenor, Joseph Doody, Baritone, Mark Nathan, Peter Jaekel and Phil Culling at the piano and a Percussion Ensemble.
Carmina Burana was originally a manuscript of 254 poems and songs (from 11th and 12th centuries) written in Latin by Goliards, mostly student clergy, whose intent was to satirise the Catholic Church. The collection of poems which was found in 1803 in Bavaria has been considered until now as one of the most important collection of Goliard and vagabond songs.
