Iconic Mini Cooper celebration of Monte Carlo Rally win in 1964, Main Concourse at London Waterloo Railway Station, from 10am

Get ready to twist and shout as The Community Brain, a SW London not-for-profit, turns back the clock to the swinging sixties to commemorate the Mini Cooper's legendary win at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964. It will be almost 60 years to the day since the Mini Cooper raced into the nation's heart with its sensational victory for Great Britain in the rally – regarded as one of the hippest sporting events of the time.

To mark this milestone, The Community Brain, in collaboration with the British Motor Museum and South Western Railway, are bringing the original winning car (registration 33 EJB) to London to celebrate its sporting success and shine a light on the Surbiton designer and engineer who made it possible – John Cooper. This will give visitors a chance to get up close to the prestigious vehicle and discover more about the origins of the Cooper brand - which is still synonymous with Mini today – and its Surbiton connections.

Plus, from 11-1pm young musicians from Basement Door youth music charity, will add to the the sixties vibe with groovy performances that visitors will dig, all inspired by the hits of 1964.
