Kingston Light Procession – Saturday 30 March
In need of some community spirit this weekend?
The Community Brain along with students from Kingston University are holding a procession this weekend to 'shine a light' on Kingston's candle-making heritage and remember the borough's lamplighters.
Holding lanterns made by local children, the procession will start from the location of the town's old candle shop before making its way towards the town museum.
The procession will start from Kingston Marketplace at 17:30.
Late-night view of Creative Flow – Thursday 28 March
For firm believers that Thursday is the new Friday, come down for an exclusive Late Night View with Lyndsay Russell, a featured artist of Creative Flow: Kingston, Art & the River.
The exhibition showcases the role of the River Thames as a major source of creative inspiration in Kingston from the seventeenth century to the present – a history that includes Turner and the Pre-Raphaelites.
Russell's own bronze sculptures and river-inspired silk Aqua Nebula provide the contemporary flourish to the exhibition.
The late-night view at Kingston Museum will start at 6pm on Thursday, while the exhibition is on view until 13 April 2024.
Thrash band Acid Reign – Sunday 31 March
UK Crossover thrash band, Acid Reign are an English crossover thrash band, originally active from 1985 to 1991.
The band rebooted in 2015 with a new album "Age of Entitlement". Along with Onslaught, Sabbat and Xentrix, Acid Reign are considered to be one of the "big four" of British thrash metal.
They will be joined by Imperium and Halberd, two iconic thrash metal bands from London.
Doors open at 6:30pm with tickets costing £15.
Save The World Club AGM – Friday 29 March
Calling all Kingston environmentalists!
The environmental and self-empowerment charity Save The World Club will be holding its Annual General Meeting this Friday.
Booking is essential, so visit StWC's website to avoid disappointment.
The meeting runs from 6.30pm to 9pm at the club down Southsea Road, Kingston.
