Canbury Gardens Movie-Fest is back by popular demand!

Kingston International Film Festival is holding an outdoor screening of cinema classics, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Birds, to get the town in the mood for the real thing the following weekend.

Rounding out the evening will be an on-site bar and hog-roast – not one to be missed!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will start from 3pm and Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds at 7pm, with the bar being open an hour earlier. Adult tickets cost £9, under-15s £6, with family tickets available.

Keeping with the Canbury-theme, the Canbury Community Garden is opening its doors to the public to come and explore this Sunday.

If you're like this editor and can't even keep a cactus going, the garden's volunteers will be more than happy to share some of their secrets to help get you closer to developing your green thumbs!

The garden, behind the usually-locked gate between the tennis club and Kings' Passage, will open its doors from 11:30am until 1:30pm, so be quick!

This opportunity to view HKWR's rolling stock of 1960s diesels as well as over ten model railway layouts on show makes for a great day out for families and everyone who loves railways and steam.

There are steam train rides, face painting, a play train, and a picnic area with hot and cold drinks and ice creams available, plus a 7 ¼ gauge steam sit-on train for children will be running all day.

Tickets are £4 for children and £8 for adults.

One for the collectors out there: just over the river in Teddington is the West London Postcard Fair.

Organisers expect 'tens of thousands of postcards, many [of] Twickenham, Richmond, Kingston, Kew, Hamptons and Teddington'.

Joining them will be photos and books of the area, some around 150 years old – and, of course, light refreshments will be available all day.

The fair's 14 dealers will be selling and trading from 10am to 4pm at Teddington Baptist Church. Admission is £2.
