Looking for something to do in and around Kingston this weekend? Here are our picks of the events and activities you won't want to miss:

FRIDAY NIGHT: The Sherlocks at Banquet Records

To celebrate the release of their third full length album titled World I Understand, Sheffield indie rockers The Sherlocks return to Kingston for an in-store acoustic set at Banquet Records.

While the rest of the world was put on hold, The Sherlocks were undergoing a rebirth. Two new band members Trent and Alex in and the Davidson brothers Josh and Andy stepping down.

Working closely alongside Manic Street Preachers producer Dave Eringa, World I Understand stands as The Sherlocks' most unshackled and ambitious album to date.

Tickets are £12 and include a CD of the new album. Gig starts at 6pm.

SATURDAY: Painting pictures with sound - New exhibition at Kate Howe Studios

Andrew White solo exhibition. Andy is an untrained artist who has dabbled with drawing and painting for many years but only recently given real focus to his work.

His work mainly looks at the shape and pattern within objects and scenes effectively deconstructing and simplifying them.

He works in oil, ink, and gouache on paper and canvas and utilises several methods and approaches which are reflected by the range of artwork on display.

Opening hours at 12-6pm on Saturday & Sunday and 1-6.30pm, Monday to Thursday. A private viewing session will be held between 7 and 9pm on Saturday evening.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Go West: 35th anniversary celebration show! at The Rose Theatre

Go West are very excited to announce a very special 35th Anniversary show at the Rose Theatre on 6 February 2022!

The duo wrote the songs for their first album in a flat very close to this venue. On this special occasion, they will be joined on stage by two people very important to this album, the producer Gary Stevenson and the keyboard wizard Dave West.

Tickets are limited and available from £29.00. The show starts at 7pm.
