Welcome to your weekly What's on in Kingston.

Every Thursday we round up all the eye-catching events occurring in your area over the weekend.

Read on for Kingston's not to be missed outings this week, and remember, you can add your FREE event using the Nub It button!

Shooting Hedda Gabler, Rose Theatre, 7:30pm

Have you seen the Rose's latest co-production with The Norwegian Ibsen Company yet? Shooting Hedda Gabler unfolds on a movie set in Norway where filming is underway for a film adaptation of Hedda Gabler. Inspired by conversations born out of the #MeToo movement, Nina Segal has created an affectionate, sharp and chilling reframing of Henrik Ibsen's 130-year-old story, directed by Jeff James.

FINAL DAY: Kingston Camera Club Photography Exhibition, All Saints Church, 10am-4pm

Celebrating 130 years, Kingston Camera Club is holding an exhibition showcasing its members' photography.

Saturday 14 October

We Are. Second Life fashion pop-up event, All Saints Church, 10am-4pm

We Are. Second Life is a sustainable, vintage fashion pop-up visiting cities all over Europe, providing a range of products for all aspects of your wardrobe from summer skirts to winter jackets. The way it works is you can buy as much or as little as you like – they weigh your finds and this determines the cost. A kilo costs £25, but you don't need to buy a whole kilo. Book a ticket in advance and get 10% off your purchase when you buy a kilo or more!

The Origin of the Faeces: Poo from the Zoo, FUSEBOX 2 bucklands Wharf, 11am-6pm

A weird and wonderful display of the relationship between animals and humans. Against a backdrop of climate destruction, this exhibition reminds us of what we stand to lose and what we should celebrate most from the world around us.

Big Mama's Door, The Grey Horse, 9pm-11:30pm

The sensational Big Mama's Door return for an evening of deliciously dirty Jazz and Blues transforming your favourite independent Juke joint into a 50's speakeasy with an irresistible dance floor.

Sunday 15 October

Surbiton Ski Sunday, Central Parade, 11am-1pm

Don't miss the chance to strap blocks of ice to your feet and ski down St Mark's Hill as suburban skiing returns to Surbiton. And if you don't fancy skiing then come along and watch.

If you fancy giving it a go, Surbiton Ski Sunday is a free event that's open to everyone, contact [email protected] or sign up on the day.

Ski as an individual or as a team of three (think of a team name) - this a fund raiser for the Community Brain so fundraising and donations are welcome on the day.

(Please note you have to be over 18 to take part in this event.)

The King's Soup, Claremont Gardens Surbiton, 1pm-3:30pm

After Ski Sunday has finished, head over to The Kings Soup at Claremont Gardens directly afterwards - live music, a play and great soup made by the community! Bring a potato or leek for the community soup plus a cup/bowl.

On the stage:

1:00pm Joe Fleming

2:00pm The Story: The King's Soup

2:45pm Pete Bruntwell

3:45pm Pearl Fish

SHOP Events: Artist Talks and Q&A, RuptureXIBIT 55 High Street, 11am-6pm

To celebrate Frieze London, RuptureXIBIT invites you to its SHOP Event. Meet the artists and buy original artwork and limited-edition prints.

Join the Rupture team for coffee and discussion at 11am. Topics include: "Art in the time of Rupture: Why does it matter? How does it function? Why is Art important today?". At 12 noon, Kate Howe and Sally Minns discuss their work.
