The leader of Kingston Council has given an update on vaccinations in Kingston.

You can watch the video from Caroline Kerr, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Canbury, above.

Alternatively you can read the full transcript here:

"There is really good news on the vaccine. It is being rolled out by the NHS across Kingston.

"Many people in care homes and over the age of 80 have been invited for their first jab.

"The NHS has begun with people who are most at risk from coronavirus. So that is firstly staff and residents in care homes, the over 80s and frontline health and social care workers.

"Just to say the vaccine is safe and effective. It is the best tool in our armoury against coronavirus.

"Your GP will contact you when it's your turn to get the vaccine. Please don't get in touch with your GP, wait for them to get in touch with you, because they are extremely but do make sure you are registered.

"You need to be registered with your GP to get the invitation. In the meanwhile keep safe."
