Updated plans for Kingston’s Market House and Market Place to be revealed this weekend

Kingston residents are being invited to view updated proposals for the historic Market House and Market Place following community feedback that was received earlier this year.
Between the Bridges is the new operator of Kingston's Ancient Market, and it has announced a public drop-in event to show its plans this Saturday, 20 September at the Ancient Market House Building from 10am - 4pm.
Nathan Chambers, project manager, wrote: "Following your feedback on the proposals for Market House & Market Place, we've refined the plans to better reflect local priorities – celebrating Kingston's heritage while creating a more welcoming, inclusive and flexible space for everyone."
It is hoped that the updated plans will work towards preserving Kingston's historic identity while improving market operations.
Between the Bridges took over as the new market operator on 1 April 2025, with experience in managing London Market's such as Venn Street Market in Clapham.
As stated in previous proposals, the key changes to the site include the refurbishment of the Market House to include a new restaurant, upgraded market stalls, and a new external seating area.
Those unable to attend on Saturday can submit feedback via email at [email protected].
