A MAN who was taken to hospital with a head injury following a fight in Surbiton is no longer in a life-threatening condition, police have said.

The man, who is in his early 30s, was treated at the scene of the fight on Victoria Road last Monday evening (3 January).

Police had been called to a fight on the road just before 9pm and found the victim wounded.

Two men, aged 28 and 32, were arrested nearby on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The 28-year-old was later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, while the 32-year-old was bailed to return in late January.

The victim was treated at the scene then taken to a hospital in South London.

In an update on Friday 7 January, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told Kingston Nub News: "The victim remains in hospital.

"His injuries are believed to potentially be life changing however they are not life threatening at this time."

Police said today there had been no further developments.
