Following its closure after COVID, Recycles bike shop reopened in mid-December under a new owner, Isaac.

Isaac previously worked at Recycles, which is located in Brighton Road, at the age of 16, ten years ago, so when he saw that the shop was up for sale, he decided to buy it.

He told Nub News: "This was the first shop I ever worked in, and I was like, this is wicked.

"To say that I 'love' cycling is an understatement."

Isaac went on a bike tour around Asia last year while his wife was pregnant and "then I came home, had a baby, saw this was up for sale and was like, 'oh, you know what? I should just do everything at once'".

Isaac was actually in the shop the day before his daughter was born.

He says that "it took ages" to get the shop up and running again as there was lot of work to be done.

Business has been going well as it can do in winter, Isaac says, and he hopes that it will only get better as we approach spring.

He's worked closely with Neil of Neil's Wheels bike shop in Hampton Court.

Recycles sells second-hand bikes, and power bikes and offers bike repairs.

Isaac says "it's nice having a little independent bike shop rather than having to go to the big chain stores.

Recycles is open from 9am – 6pm Tuesday – Saturday and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
