Following the legal warning from Richmond Council, an unauthorised traveller camp has left Riverside Drive in Ham.

The unauthorised camp arrived on Wednesday (3rd March) and left yesterday afternoon before the 4pm deadline issued by the Council.

To facilitate a swift departure, the travellers left behind a few bags of waste, which the council are clearing up as a matter of urgency.

Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of Richmond Council, said:

"Our action has resulted in the travellers leaving Ham and we are pleased that in this instance no damage was caused to the site. As ever, we hope that the swift legal action the Council takes means this group is less likely to return and other groups will be deterred from coming to the borough."
