Teenager stabbed near Kingston shops

A 16-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in broad daylight in Kingston.
Police were called to Old London Road yesterday (Sunday, 12 April) at 5.42pm following reports of an assault.
The teenager was found with stab wounds at the scene and was taken to hospital where his injuries have been found not to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Police confirmed no arrests have been made in relation to the attack, but an investigation is ongoing.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police issued this morning (Monday, 13 April) said: "At around 17:42hrs on Sunday, 12 April, officers were called to reports of an assault on Old London Road, Kingston.
"A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where his injuries have been assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 5285/12APR or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
A police helicopter was also reported to be hovering around Kingston on Sunday night.
Meanwhile police also cordoned off a parade of shops as part of the investigation.
A section 60 order was also authorised giving police additional stop and search powers to prevent any further violence and disorder.
As a result, three people were arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and drugs.
