Three bikes were stolen in Surbiton last week.

A white GT Aggressor was one of the three bikes recently stolen from the unit at an address on King Charles Road.

Bikes being stolen is an increasing problem in the Kingston area.

In a 2020 study by Plumpest using police figures the KT1 postcode was singled put as one of the worst places in the country for bike theft.

31 bikes per 1,000 people are stolen in the area.

That's more than nineteen times the national average bike crime rate which stands at 1.6 per 1,000 people.

By comparison, the overall bike crime rate in the 'KT' postcode area is 2.8 thefts per 1,000 people (which is still 175% of the national average).
