The Kingston-based charity Save The World Club is returning with its repair workshop for electronics from 12pm to 7pm on weekdays at Southsea Road Kingston.

The repair shop is organised in collaboration with 3R ZeroWaste UK.

For repairs of electrical and electronic items, the charity will only charge for spare parts if needed.

Donations from volunteers keep the repair workshop running. Volunteers are also trained to offer help with the repairs.

Save The World Club received a £34,500 Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) fund from the Royal Borough of Kingston which has gone towards the repair workshops.

The repair workshops have been equipped with new desks, workspaces moveable LED lighting, PAT testing equipment, tools and parts.

The fund has also been invested in new electronical installations, fire and safety, furniture, shelving, benches and hardware and software infrastructure.

In 2024, WEEE Repair has built 80% of the infrastructure needed to sustain the project in the new year by re-using and redistributing electronic goods.

Dr Tariq Shabbeer, Save The World Club's Secretary General said: "This workshop has repaired and tested hundreds of electronic items such as fridges, microwaves, heaters, lamps, toasters and kitchen equipment to save fhem from waste. Items are either repaired for individuals or sold at low cost from our warehouse."
