Colourful bear sculptures are being sighted across Kingston town centre as the final preparations are made for the town's bear hunt.

The event, inspired by Michael Rosen's popular 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' picture book, will run from 29 March to 7 June.

Ten bears have been commissioned by Kingston First, Wild in Art and Walker Books for the first Kingston Bear Trail.

"The Bear Trail promises a colourful adventure for everyone," says local charity Creative Youth.

Alongside the bears "in unexpected places," Creative Youth has said a bear will be stationed outside FUSEBOX, Kingston's latest arts venue located underneath John Lewis.

Guide leaflets will be available from FUSEBOX's box office team, who will also be handing out 'Kingston Bear Expert' badges to those who tick off the town's 10 bears.

Visitors can also find leaflets at The Rose Theatre and Waterstones.

The bears themselves have each been created by a different artist, going by names like Groovy Bear-by and Mother Paw'd.

Kingston First has run similar public art exhibitions in the past, including February's Light Up Kingston.

Full information for the event can be found here.
