The Bentall Centre to mark VE Day with community-inspired installation and children’s activity

In a heartfelt tribute to Victory in Europe (VE) Day, The Bentall Centre has partnered with local primary schools to commemorate this historic occasion through creativity and community spirit.
As part of the initiative, a commemorative wall will be installed at the heart of the centre, proudly adorned with bunting decorated by children from local schools, including St John's, St Joseph's, St Luke's, and Hampton Wick Primary School.
This collaborative display will stand as a powerful symbol of remembrance, and unity.
To further engage the community, on Saturday, 10 May, the Bentall Centre will host a VE Day-themed colouring activity, inviting children and families to express their creativity while learning about the significance of VE Day.
The event is expected to draw enthusiastic
participation, with young visitors taking part in fun, hands-on arts and crafts while reflecting on the importance of the day.
Tina Powley-Mapp, Centre Director, said: "We're honoured to host such a
meaningful event.
"VE Day is a time to reflect on our shared history, remember those who
served, and celebrate the spirit of community.
"It's great to work with local schools and bring the community together. We hope this initiative inspires connection, learning and pride across generations, and we look forward to creating more moments like this for our community."
