Teddington RNLI to host free lifejacket clinic for water safety
Teddington RNLI is hosting a free lifejacket clinic this Saturday (27 January) where regular users can learn from crew members how to check for wear and tear.
Whatever your activity, wearing a well fitted, well maintained and suitable lifejacket or buoyancy aid could save your life. Research has proven that wearing a lifejacket can increase your chances of survival up to four times if you are immersed in cold water.
The RNLI crew will also be teaching simple maintenance tasks like replacing gas bottles and firing heads during the clinic.
There will be time to have your life jacket(s) checked and meet with the RNLI Thames Crew to discuss water safety on the river.
Space at the event is limited, so people are encouraged to sign up ASAP to avoid disappointment. To ensure the RNLI crew can see as many people as possible, they ask that attendees bring no more than two lifejackets to the session.
The first session will run from 9-11am, and the second session will run from 11am-1pm. Visitors only need to attend one session, and are urged to please arrive promptly.
You can book your free space here.
