Shrewsbury House School, an independent boys' prep school based in Surbiton, has been named Best Prep School at the prestigious Tatler Schools Awards 2027.

This is the school's second Tatler award following Executive Headteacher Joanna Hubbard's recognition as Best Prep School Head 2025, marking a "rare achievement and standing as a major endorsement of the school's outstanding educational experience", according to the school.

Shrewsbury House Prep School added: "This prestigious national award reflects the dedication, vibrant spirit and excellence shared across the entire Shrewsbury House community: from the highly engaged pupils and supportive families to the dedicated staff who bring out the best in the school every day."

Commenting on the award, Executive Headteacher Joanna Hubbard said: "This milestone belongs to everyone who makes up our community: our enthusiastic boys, supportive families and the exceptional staff who bring out the best in Shrewsbury House every day.

"Receiving Tatler recognition twice in such quick succession is a wonderful endorsement of the nurture, ambition and holistic education our boys enjoy. While we are celebrating this incredible recognition, our journey doesn't stop here.

"As our school motto, Alta Peto (Aim high), reminds us, we will keep developing independent, curious and passionate learners for an ever changing world, raising standards in our learning, our behaviour and our spirit.

"To our boys, families, staff and alumni: congratulations- you can proudly say you are part of the best prep school in the country."

The award highlights Shrewsbury House's commitment to developing independent, curious, and passionate learners who are well-prepared for senior school and beyond.
