Surbiton cafe could expand outdoor seating area
By Tilly O'Brien 8th Jul 2026
A cafe in Surbiton could expand its outdoor seating area at the front of the shop.
Go Sip Cafe, which is located at 291 Ewell Road, has submitted a licensing application to Kingston Council seeking permission to expand its outdoor seating area on the public footway immediately adjacent to the front of the shop from two tables and four chairs to four tables and eight chairs.
This would be to both sell or serve food or drink and for the purpose of consuming food or drink.
If the application is approved, Go Sip hopes to operate its expanded outdoor seating area from 7am - 10pm seven days a week.
It says that the expansion will "not obstruct pedestrian access or the entrance to neighbouring premises".

Go Sip added: "A clear pedestrian walkway will be maintained at all times to ensure safe and unobstructed access for pedestrians and neighbouring properties."
Residents have until 17 July to submit representations for this application and can do so here.
