A bar in Surbiton officially closed its doors last week.

Niku Bar was located in 92 Ewell Road.

Speaking about the closure, the bar's team said: "It's the end of an unforgettable chapter, and we want to say thank you to everyone who walked through our doors — whether you came once or a hundred times. Your support and shared moments made Niku bar an unforgettable place!

"We're proud of what we built and grateful for the community that grew around it.

"Thank you for being part of our story."

In an Instagram post shared by Niku about the closure, local residents shared their sorrow about the news with one saying: "so sad, but great time performing at the venue. Good luck to you all with whatever next."

Another said: "Such a shame – Good luck to you all. Thanks for great nights out."

Niku was known for hosting party events both in its bar and garden.
