A Surbiton-based author is set to launch her debut children's book with a live reading at Parade's End Bookshop next week.

Marielle Bayliss is the woman behind Frog's Bog, the first in a new series inspired by local Surrey waterways, including The Hogsmill (a chalk stream tributary of The Thames) and Berrylands Nature Reserve in Surbiton.

The book is beautifully illustrated by Mariela Malova, featuring local wildlife and the waterways they inhabit and is aimed at children aged from three to six.

The children's picture book will be available to order from March 9th by publisher Graffeg, which will then be followed by Marielle's live reading at Kingston's Parade's End Bookshop on Sunday, March 12th at 11am, the first of several readings and signings planned at local bookshops, libraries and festivals.

A range of froggie-themed activities for children will also take place following the reading.

To support Surbiton's local author Marielle and book an entertaining and educational morning for the little ones, head down to Parade's End Bookshop next Sunday!

Frog's Bog is available for pre-order now.
