Sunday - Kingston Council and All Saints Church to host civic service in commemoration of the Queen

The Royal Borough of Kingston and All Saints Church will host a community Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II this Sunday.

The service will take place at the historic parish church of Kingston which is a place of significant heritage. The first king of England - Athelstan in 925AD - was crowned at All Saints Church which has been at the centre of Kingston life for centuries.

The parish will host a maximum capacity of 500 people for Sunday's service so those wishing to attend are encouraged to purchase their tickets promptly with high demand expected.

Tickets will need to be shown on the door, digitally or printed, and guests are asked to be seated for 5.45pm with the service beginning at 6pm.

For those unable to attend, the service will also be streamed online.

For those wishing to pay their respects to Her Majesty, A book of condolences is now open at the Guildhall as well as ones at Surbiton, New Malden and Hook and Chessington Libraries.

For those wishing to lay a floral tribute to mark The Queen's passing, there are a number of ways you are able to do so:

Memorial Gardens or the site of the Coronation Stone by the Guildhall in Kingston. 

In New Malden at the War Memorial or the Jubilee Square. 

Surbiton's War Memorial or Claremont Gardens with wreaths able to be placed near the Clock Tower.

For those south of the borough, residents are able to visit the Chessington War Memorial on Church Lane or Hook Community Centre.

A letter of condolence will be sent from the Mayor of Kingston to the Royal Family on behalf of the Royal Borough and the people of Kingston.
