Two groups in Kingston are being called upon to book their COVID-19 vaccinations.

Originally the NHS was operating an invite-only system but now Kingston Council are calling upon any social care workers or over 70s to get their vaccination.

The government are making a final push as they look to hit their 15 million people vaccinated target on Monday.

Social Care Workers are the first group being invited to book.

Here is what Aylona Dael, from the Star and Garter Care Home in Surbiton said"

"I had been scared before going for the vaccine because I had seen in the news that some NHS staff had suffered the side effects.

"But I found it really reassuring having doctors and nurses there.

"I was put at ease and confident that everything would be all right. And it was!

"We all know that COVID can have serious and life-threatening complications.

"The vaccine will give you immunity and that's really important."

So if you are an unvaccinated social care worker ask your employer to contact the Adult Social Care team by email at: [email protected] to request an appointment on your behalf

You will then receive a link through which you can book your vaccine appointment.

Over 70s yet to be vaccinated are also encouraged to book an appointment.
