A second workspace along Kingston's Riverside has opened its doors following high-demand that saw its initial space reach full occupancy.

TownSq Bridgeworks is situated two buildings south of TownSq Kingston, in the former Essence Night Club building, and will see the addition of six more private offices, another co-working space and a dedicated event space for up to 50 people.

With all of TownSq Kingston's offices being let and its co-working space thriving, the new space is already proving popular, with five out of the six new offices having already been acquired, something that TownSq Kingston Manager, Clark Gardner, said was a testament to the growing entrepreneurial community in Kingston.

Clark added: "The response from local people has been extraordinary. From day one, we've seen local freelancers, startups and established businesses come through our doors and build something genuinely special together.

"All the offices in our original site have been let, and we have around 150 members actively using our coworking desks - there's a real buzz about this community.

"People choose to work here because of that sense of community, that ability to pop their head round the door or turn to the person to the left of them and solve a problem through collected experiences.

"When you have a working environment where like-minded people can collaborate, it generates a contagious energy, and it's that natural uplifting that goes on to help people succeed, to their benefit and ultimately to the local economy too."

Speaking of the need for a second workspace, Clark said TownSq Bridgeworks would offer more office space but also a dedicated event space for up to 50 people.

He continued: "Bridgeworks is the natural next step for us, with more offices and another, albeit smaller, co-working space.

"The larger event space is also quite exciting, we've already got a number of events booked, such as community training sessions, a monthly women's network and of course, our regular StartUp Club to help people start their own businesses."

Town Square Kingston has been supported and delivered in partnership with Kingston Council and the BIG South London programme, a South London-wide drive to unlock knowledge-based economic growth in the area and has received from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Founded in 2017, TownSq supports thousands of freelancers, startups and small businesses every year through its nine spaces across the UK in Wales, Oxfordshire, West Sussex, Devon, Hereford, Cheshire and London.

It also runs Startup Club, an after-work support program to help people who want to start a business but are not yet ready to quit their job, as well as TownSq Accelerator to fast-track businesses that are aiming to grow quickly.
