Kingston's communities are set to join together to pay their respects at Remembrance Sunday events across our Royal Borough on Sunday 10 November.

This year's Remembrance Day services are taking place in Kingston Town Centre, Surbiton, New Malden, and Chessington and there will be some road works across the borough to allow the services to proceed.

Temporary Traffic Notices are in force from 7am on Sunday 10 November across all areas where Remembrance Services will take place.

During the times of all road closures for the four events across RBK, all parking will be suspended.

If you have a parked car in an affected area, you must ensure it is moved before 7am.

To allow the Remembrance Day services to proceed, vehicles will not be allowed to enter:

  • High Street, between Kingston Hall Road and Eden Street
  • Market Place
  • Memorial Square (Church Street).
  • Union Street, between its junction with Church Street and n.44

The council has asked businesses to notify their suppliers that they will not be able to get access to the area between 8am and 1pm.

Surbiton

A series of road closures will be put in place as authorised by the Temporary Traffic Notice:

Hollyfield Road will be closed pre-event from 8:30am to permit the formation of the Parade followed by closures along the Ewell Road from the junction with Hollyfield Road to St Marks Hill from 10am to permit the safe passage of the parade along the processional route to the war memorial located by Surbiton Library.

Fixed road closures will be kept in place throughout the entire event.

The road closures will remain in place until approximately 12pm once the parade has returned to Hollyfield Road.

During the above times, the procession route will need to be kept clear.

For reasons of security, police and stewards will not be allowing any vehicles to enter:

  • Hollyfield Road (from 8:30am until around 12pm)
  • Ewell Road between Holyfield Road and St Marks Hill (from 9am until around 12pm)

From 9am until around 12pm, Kingston Council asks businesses to notify their suppliers that access will regrettably be denied accordingly.

A series of road closures will be put in place as authorised by the Temporary Traffic Notice:

Presburg Road will be closed pre-event from 8:30am until the parade has exited the road.

New Malden High Street between the Fountain Roundabout and Blagdon Road will be closed only for the parade's outwards march.

The High Street from Blagdon Road through to Dukes Avenue will be fully closed from 8:30am until the parade has passed the location at around 11:30am at the latest.

During the above times, the procession route will need to be kept clear.

For reasons of security, police and stewards will not be allowing any vehicles to enter:

● High Street, between Fountain Roundabout and Dukes Road

● Presburg Road

● Blagdon Road

The council asks that businesses notify their suppliers that they will not be able to get access to the area between 7am and 11:30am.

Chessington

Church Lane in Chessington will be closed to traffic between Stokesby Road and Green Lane between 10:50am and 11:10am to enable those who wish to pay their respects at the War Memorial and observe the National two-minute silence.
