Red Robin Arts Academy members announced as runners up at the Friends of Bushy and Home Parks Art Competition
The winners of The Friends of Bushy and Home Parks Art Competition were announced at a VIP event at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington on Saturday 14 September.
Among those shortlisted were the Red Robin Arts Academy were its founder, Carla Terry, three of her adult students, and three of her child students, including nine-year-old Lola Valle-Tourangeau who created an exceptional drawing of a chaffinch bird.
Some of these students are from Kingston and Surbiton.
While none of Terry's students won, one of them, Clara Tennant, was highly recommended for the 7-11 category, and Terry, along with two of her students, including Lola and Digby Young (12-18 years) were runners up for the "People's Choice Award".
The winner of the "People's Choice Award" went to Sofia Green, with artwork titled Winter Sunset by the Lake.
Terry said: "'It was lovely seeing so many of my students at this wonderful event. It was really well attended and the range of artwork was incredible.
"We were all very excited when the results were announced, and I felt like a proud mother hen up on stage."
The competition consisted of artwork and photography of the wildlife and nature in both Bushy and Home Park.
An exhibition of the works shortlisted for the competition was held at the Landmarks Art Centre from 12-15 September.
Over 500 people attended the exhibition over the four days to view the art and 60 wildlife photos captured by local photographers including Sue Lindenberg, Emma Durnford, Rebecca Harvey, Cathy Cooper, David Ivison and Michael Eaton, which included The Friends 2025 Calendar winning images.
