Pub building in Surbiton goes up for sale

A public house in Surbiton has been put on the market for "in excess of" £1.5 million.
Marketed the Savills, the property on Berrylands Road is home to popular pub Brave New World, which remains open for business despite the sale.
According to the property agent, the property is split over four levels including "substantial trading accommodation with large function room and catering kitchen".
There are also eleven bedrooms to let as well as a two-bed apartment. These are all individually let on the upper floors.
The brochure says: "Leasehold element is held on a lease expiring on 10th December 2037* at a current rent of £21,000 pa."
Despite being open for 'around 20 years', an employee of the pub told Kingston Nub News that owner Dianne has "decided that it's time to move on".

They continued: "Hopefully whoever buys the building will keep it as a pub and get the kitchen going. That's the intention, but who knows.
"We're not looking to close though".
Upon hearing about the building being up for sale, locals have taken to social media to express their sadness about the change.
