A potential new restaurant in Tolworth is seeking permission from Kingston Council to serve alcohol alongside its food menu.

El Curry Loco, which will be located at 132 Tolworth Broadway and replace the vacant site of the BurgerNation, hopes to serve alcohol during the restaurant's operating hours from 10am - 11pm Monday to Friday and until 11.30pm on Sundays.

If approved, the applicant, Niroojan Rajah, hopes to refurbish the site into a fusion curry and taco restaurant, offering hot and cold beverages including alcohol for consumption on-site only.

The application states that alcohol will only be served with a substantial meal.

El Curry Loco has pledged to implement strong measures including internal training in the supply of alcohol, a challenge 25 policy, a fully operational CCTV system and clear signage encouraging respectful behaviour.

Kingston Council is currently considering the application and residents have until 28 July to submit any comments here.
